BEHIND THE TOOLS

About & Methodology

Useful tools. Understandable answers.

ClarityKit brings calculators, file converters and everyday utilities together, with practical controls and explanations you can check.

What ClarityKit is for

Use ClarityKit to compare a financial scenario, check a calculation, work with dates, prepare a document or convert a file. The service is available without a visitor account. Each tool has its own inputs, supported formats and limitations.

The site is maintained under the ClarityKit name. For service questions and corrections, contact claritykit@claritykit.tools.

Three ways a tool can work

On your device

Calculators and tools marked as local process inputs in your browser. Local file tools do not upload your selected files.

With reference data

Currency tools request exchange rates from Frankfurter. Your amount and fees stay in the browser; the requested currencies and date go to the rate service.

With external processing

Selected document, image and video conversions use ApyHub through our server. These tools ask for processing consent before upload.

The notice beside each tool explains which approach it uses. Our privacy policy explains storage and retention in more detail.

Methods you can inspect

Calculator explanations identify the formula, assumptions, units and conventions used. Where a tool relies on an established external method, its reference link helps you check the source. A financial estimate may use simplified compounding or payment assumptions; a statistical test depends on its sample and distribution assumptions.

Calculation logic is kept separate from the page presentation. Display rounding can differ from the precision used in intermediate calculations. Review the method and example on the tool page before relying on a result.

What we actually check

Verification combines automated tests, independently calculated reference values and browser checks. Recent checks include:

  • Statistical results: distribution probabilities and test results compared with reference values generated by SciPy.
  • Mathematics: matrix inverses checked against the identity matrix and equation solutions checked by substituting them back into the equations.
  • Files: sample converted documents checked for readable content, image outputs decoded, QR codes read with a separate decoder, and audio outputs checked for a valid format and duration.
  • Usability: mobile and desktop layouts, horizontal overflow, visible tool controls and automated accessibility checks.

Tests also cover invalid inputs and boundary cases. These checks describe real work on the project; they do not mean every possible input, file or device has been tested.

AI assistance and review

AI assists with development, interface design, explanatory writing and testing. Automated tests and reference comparisons are checks on the implementation, not professional certification. We do not claim independent expert review, medical approval or an accredited advisory service.

Help us correct a result

If something looks wrong, send a reproducible example with the tool URL, expected result and actual result. Use invented or non-sensitive inputs. This lets us investigate the calculation or conversion and check a fix against the reported case.

Methods, explanations and tools can change as issues are identified. Check the current tool page for its assumptions and limitations.
