How to use this converter
- Enter temperature, from, to.
- Select Calculate to view the result.
- Check the method and assumptions below before using the result.
The method, explained
Fahrenheit = Celsius × 9/5 + 32. Kelvin = Celsius + 273.15. Reverse these relationships to convert back.
20°C equals 68°F and 293.15 K. At −40, Celsius and Fahrenheit have the same numerical value.
What to keep in mind
This converts temperature readings, not temperature differences. Negative Kelvin inputs are rejected.
Common questions
Why can I not enter negative Kelvin?
Zero Kelvin is absolute zero. Ordinary thermodynamic temperature readings cannot be below it.
Does a 10°C increase equal an 18°F increase?
Yes. Differences use the scale factor only; do not add 32 when converting a change in temperature.
