How to use this tool

The method, explained

Each die independently draws a uniform integer from 1 through the selected number of sides using browser cryptographic randomness. The displayed total is the sum of all rolls.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

Two six-sided dice have a total between 2 and 12. A total of 7 has more possible combinations than a total of 2; totals are not uniformly distributed.

What to keep in mind

Supports 1 to 100 dice, each with 2 to 1,000 sides. Dice have consecutive integer labels. This does not implement custom game modifiers, rerolls or advantage rules.

Common questions

Are all totals equally likely?

No. Individual faces are equally likely, but some sums can occur through more combinations.

Can I roll a d20?

Yes. Choose 20 sides and the number of dice you want to roll.
