- Check the method and assumptions below before using the result.
The method, explained
Average CPC = total advertising spend ÷ total clicks. Use spend and clicks from the same campaign scope and reporting period.
A campaign spending 500 for 250 clicks has an average CPC of 2. A spend of 0 with recorded clicks gives an average of 0.
What to keep in mind
This is a historical average, not a bid recommendation or a prediction of future click prices. Clicks are not the same as unique visitors.
Common questions
Is average CPC my maximum bid?
No. A bid is an auction setting. This calculator divides the spend you actually report by the clicks you received.
What if I have no clicks?
Cost per click is undefined with zero clicks. The tool will ask for a positive click count rather than display a misleading zero.
