How to use this converter

  1. Enter value, from, to.
  2. Select Calculate to view the result.
  3. Check the method and assumptions below before using the result.

The method, explained

Convert to the base unit, then divide by the target factor. One kilohertz is 1,000 hertz; one megahertz is 1,000,000 hertz; one gigahertz is 1,000,000,000 hertz.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

1 MHz = 1,000,000 Hz; 2.4 GHz = 2,400 MHz.

What to keep in mind

Hertz describes cycles per second. It is not the same as a data transfer rate measured in bits per second.

Common questions

Does MHz specify network throughput?

No. Throughput depends on modulation, channel conditions and other factors beyond frequency.

What does zero hertz mean?

There are no repeating cycles per second, as with a constant signal.
