How to use this tool

  1. Enter starting date, days to add or subtract.
  2. Select Calculate to view the result.
  3. Check the method and assumptions below before using the result.

The method, explained

Move forward by the specified number of calendar days; negative numbers move backward. Date arithmetic uses UTC calendar boundaries so local daylight saving shifts do not alter the day count.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

Adding 30 days to January 1, 2026 gives January 31, 2026. Subtracting one day from March 1, 2024 gives February 29, 2024.

What to keep in mind

Includes weekends and holidays. This adds elapsed calendar days, not inclusive day numbers. The start date plus zero remains the start date.

Common questions

Can I subtract days?

Yes. Enter a negative number, such as −7 to move back one week.

Does adding one month mean adding 30 days?

No. Calendar months vary in length. This tool adds days only and does not apply a month-end adjustment.
