- Check the method and assumptions below before using the result.
The method, explained
Elapsed days = (end date − start date) in calendar days. Full weeks = floor(days ÷ 7).
A WORKED EXAMPLE
January 1 to February 1, 2026 is 31 days: 4 full weeks and 3 days.
What to keep in mind
The start is included and the end excluded. The same date gives zero days. This does not count hours or local daylight-saving transitions.
Common questions
How do I include the end date too?
Add one day to the elapsed-day result when you need an inclusive count of both dates.
Are leap years supported?
Yes. Calendar arithmetic includes February 29 in leap years.
