The method, explained

Net source amount = amount × (1 − fee ÷ 100) − fixed fee. Estimated received amount = net source amount × reference rate.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

With 100 USD, a 2% fee and a 1 USD fixed fee, 97 USD remains. At an illustrative 0.90 rate, the recipient gets 87.30 EUR.

What to keep in mind

Fees are deducted before conversion. Negative net amounts are rejected. A provider’s exchange-rate markup or a fee in the target currency needs a different model.
