How to use this tool

  1. Enter component volume, final solution volume.
  2. Select Calculate to view the result.
  3. Check the method and assumptions below before using the result.

The method, explained

Volume percent (v/v) = component volume ÷ final solution volume × 100.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

Using component volume = 25 mL, final solution volume = 250 mL, the result is 10 % v/v. Change these example inputs to match your task; use the method above to check each step.

Understanding your result

Not always. Non-additive volumes can change the result, so use the actual final solution volume when accuracy matters.

What to keep in mind

Use measured final volume; mixing liquids can cause contraction or expansion. This tool does not infer alcohol strength from ingredient labels. Educational calculation only; use validated procedures for laboratory work.

Common questions

Can I add liquid volumes to find the final volume?

Not always. Non-additive volumes can change the result, so use the actual final solution volume when accuracy matters.

Are my inputs uploaded?
